The Litigation Process and Opportunities for Resolution
The Litigation Process and Opportunities for Resolution -- New York Attorney Jonny Kool Explains 212.406.1700 Listen as New York personal injury attorney Jonny Kool discusses the options you have in resolving your personal injury case if you decide to bring a lawsuit against the party that harmed you. While the litigation process on the road to trial may take a long time -- anywhere from one to three years -- you actually have several opportunities in which to resolve the situation. How your case gets resolved is up to you. Some cases are resolved in the mediation phase. Mediation is a meeting of both sides along with a neutral party. This neutral party discusses the points of the case with each side and then tries to work out an agreeable arrangement that benefits both parties. You may also resolve your case by settling. This means you'll receive a check for your harms and losses. But it's important to judge how much money that is against what your injuries not only have cost you but will cost you in the future. If your case goes all the way to trial, we'll present your evidence and expert witnesses to show to the jury exactly how you were injured and how those injuries are going to affect the rest of your life.
