Over 100 Injured in LIRR Train Crash at Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn

Another train crash where an engineer failed to stop has occurred. This time, it was in Brooklyn at the Atlantic Terminal where an LIRR train failed to stop resulting in a crash causing injuries to more than 100 people. According to a report by CBS New York, the engineer failed to stop the train in time causing it to crash and derail. Authorities are investigating why the train operator failed to stop and those findings will be released upon completion of the investigation.

While travel by train is statistically safer than driving a car, accidents do happen. In most cases, train accidents prove devastating for the passengers and railroad workers aboard the train. Train accidents can leave passengers dead or facing debilitating injuries. Common injuries suffered in train accidents include broken bones, back and neck trauma, spinal cord injuries, and brain trauma. If the accident was the result of negligence, passengers and railroad workers who have suffered injuries may have grounds to file a lawsuit against the railroad company or manufacturer. At Queller, Fisher, Washor, Fuchs & Kool, our personal injury lawyers have experience defending the rights of passengers and railroad workers who have suffered injuries in train accidents. While train accident lawsuits can be complex, our attorneys have the resources necessary to effectively try these cases.
