Bertram D. Fisher (In Memorium)
Bertram D. Fisher, one of the founding partners, passed away in 2005. Throughout his professional life Mr. Fisher was recognized for his brilliant legal work, leadership in the profession and dedication to the rights of plaintiffs, receiving innumerable awards and honors.
In 1979, he was named one of the state's Best Negligence Lawyers by the New York Law Journal. Mr. Fisher received the Man of the Year Award by the National Committee of the Furtherance of Jewish Education, the Merit Award by the International Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists, and the Community Mayor's Humanitarian Award, presented by Mayor Rudolph Giuliani in 1995, and was named a Roscoe Pound Fellow of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
He served as president and governor of the Jewish Lawyers Guild, as director of the International Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists, and as an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association. He graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 1951 and the University of Miami in 1949.
